BUSINESS VISA

To qualify, applicants must demonstrate international recognition and exceptional achievement in one of the following areas:

• A Profession (e.g. medicine, engineering, law, business leadership)
• Research & Academia (e.g. scientists, published researchers, PhD holders)
• The Arts (e.g. authors, filmmakers, performers)
• Sports (e.g. elite athletes or coaches)

You must also:

• Still be active and prominent in your field
• Be an asset to the Australian community
• Demonstrate the ability to find work or establish yourself in your field in Australia
• Be nominated via Form 1000 by a nationally reputable Australian individual or organisation in your field
• If under 18 or over 55, show you are of exceptional benefit to Australia

This visa is by invitation only. To be considered, applicants must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). If your profile meets the Department of Home Affairs’ standards, you may be invited to apply for the visa.

You must be recognised internationally as exceptional and outstanding in your field. Evidence may include:

• Prestigious awards (e.g. Nobel Prize, Olympic Medal, Academy Award)
• High-impact academic publications or citation metrics
• Global rankings, national team selection, or international competition results
• Publications, exhibitions, or sales with significant international reach
• Senior professional titles (e.g. CEO, Professor) in reputable organisations

Academia & Research

• Peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals
• Research grants, fellowships, or awards
• Patents or commercialised research
• Professorships or honorary academic positions
• Significant citation counts and research impact

Profession

• Prestigious industry awards
• Executive-level roles (e.g. Director, Department Head)
• Testimonials from industry leaders
• Publications, media features, or international recognitions

Arts

• National/international sales or exhibitions
• Awards (e.g. BAFTA, Academy Award)
• Gallery displays and audience reach
• Recognised by peers or professional bodies

Sport

• International rankings or team memberships
• Results in global tournaments
• Recognition from national or international sports bodies
• Scholarships or sponsorships

Applicants must demonstrate functional English or pay a second Visa Application Charge (VAC).
